Artful Outlook
TRANSITIONING FROM THE SUBURBS TO CITY LIFE
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
DESIGN415 was thrilled to work with our clients again on this project. A few years earlier, we worked with them at their previous home in Los Altos, and they were impressed by our team’s work and the design outcome. So, when the time came for our clients to purchase a new property, there was no doubt that they would choose DESIGN415 again after such a positive experience the first time around. Lucky us!
This project is in Pacific Heights in San Francisco and involved a total home renovation and remodel project. From top to bottom, everything changed - there were structural changes and additions to the home, as well as a total design overhaul to fit the new space
The DESIGN415 team worked closely with contractors and other professionals/tradesmen on various parts of the project including flooring, lighting, and tiling. Once the new layout of the home was finished, we got busy with the design side of the project. No detail was overlooked - from kitchen to bathrooms to living areas, this was a multi-room project that affected all parts of the home. In addition, our clients possessed an extensive art collection that we highlighted throughout the home.
Our clients wanted to take full advantage of the home’s incredible city views, so the entire design centered around creating a soothing & tranquil environment that fits their lifestyle.

DESIGN FOR ALL/WHAT AREAS OF THE HOME

Kitchen
Living area
2 Bathrooms
Primary suite
Home office
Laundry room
As you can see, this project was inclusive of all areas of the home!
TYPE OF PROPERTY/HOME
This project is for a primary residence, a unit in a condo building.
NATURAL MATERIALS
As part of the design and the major renovations and remodel project, DESIGN415 selected new wood flooring to be used around the home.
SPECIAL ATTENTION PAID TO THE SITE/LOCATION
This home features sprawling city and Bay views (including Alcatraz!) so we took full advantage of that in our design. It features lots of natural light throughout the day.
INTERIOR DESIGN STYLE/AESTHETIC
DESIGN415 went with a contemporary design for this project, leaning into peaceful and tranquil colors. This applies to the paint selection, but also the furnishings and decor elements. You might even notice our nod to Asian/Eastern design throughout the space!
COLOR CONSULTATION
The clients were clear about their desire for a restful space to call home, and as such, we used lots of calming greys, whites, wood elements.
PROJECT TIMELINE
From start to finish, this project took about a year and a half.
PROJECT LOCATION

“I felt like I was on one of those interior design shows where they had the big reveal. I loved everything I saw. Thank you, Teri and Al, for all the ‘eye candy’ in my home. Love, love, LOVE my home now.”
